Decadify turns a photo you upload into a 1980s-style image. That means handling a picture of your face, so this page explains exactly what happens to it, in plain language.
The photo you upload
Your selfie is resized and compressed in your own browser before it is sent anywhere. When you press Generate, the compressed copy is transmitted to our server and passed to the third-party image model configured for this deployment. It is used for that single generation and is not written to our database. We do not keep your original photo, and we do not use it to train anything.
If no image model is configured, generation happens entirely on your device using a browser-based filter and your photo is never transmitted at all.
The images we do store
The finished 1980s image is stored so your result page keeps working when you share the link. It is held in our database as image data alongside the style you chose, the mode used, the prompt template, and a timestamp. Result pages are marked noindex and are excluded from our sitemap, so they are not meant to appear in search results — but anyone with the link can open it, so treat a result link as public.
Account information
Signing in is optional. If you sign in with Google we receive and store your Google account identifier, your email address, your display name and your profile picture URL. We use these only to identify your account, apply the signed-in daily allowance, and remove the watermark. We never receive your Google password.
IP address and rate limiting
Each generation records the IP address it came from. This exists purely to enforce the daily limits and stop automated abuse, and it is stored with the generation record.
Cookies
We set a session cookie when you sign in, which is what keeps you signed in. If analytics are enabled on this deployment, Google Analytics also sets cookies to measure aggregate traffic — pages visited, time on page, and how often the generator is used. We do not run advertising cookies of our own, and we do not sell personal data.
Third parties
Depending on how this deployment is configured, data may be processed by: the AI image model provider (which receives your compressed selfie and the prompt), Google (sign-in and, if enabled, analytics), and our hosting and database providers. We choose providers that process data under their own privacy terms, but we do not control their internal practices.
Children
Decadify is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Do not upload photographs of children.
Your choices
You can use the tool without an account, in which case we hold no identity information about you at all. You can ask us to delete a stored result or your account details by writing to hello@decadify.com. Deleting a result breaks its share link permanently.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your photo is handled, we will update the date at the top of this page.
